Format

This bibliography is composed of three main parts, plus an interactive component:

Nonfiction: Books, book chapters, and print articles
This section covers print non-fiction. Where an anthology did not deal entirely with female masculinity or butch/FTM topics (as in one of the plethora of l/g/b/t studies readers which aren't), I elected just to cite relevant chapters. Many of the articles cited are not likely to be found in mainstream magazines. Books are great. Don't forget to check out my independent bookstore links.

Fiction
Stories and novels about transmen, butches, tomboys, etc., will find their home here.

Film
A new feature!

Web Sites
The web sites have been moved from the bibliography to the main page, The Hoyden Project.

Feedback
I've created a mechanism for you to reply to this bibliography. There are three links after each annotation. You can reply to the text or to the annotation, or read the responses of others. If you choose to reply, I will use several factors to determine whether or not to add your response to the page. Foremost, this project is designed to help create thoughtful conversation between those on the female/masculine continuum. If your reply doesn't further that aim (i.e. is is neither thoughtful nor conversational), it won't be added. That in mind, I look forward to the varied responses I will be adding. Please use this feature!
I welcome suggestions of works for me to review and add. If you suggest a title, however, please remember the focus on female and FTM masculinities.

Recent Additions
Because this bibliography is designed to grow, I have introduced a mechanism to allow you to move directly to new citiations, rather than force you to scroll through them every time you visit. This feature is accessed under the "New works" link. So bookmark the page, and check back.

The general operation of the site will be to add works as soon as I discover their applicability, and then to add annotations to the citations as soon as I am able to give a more in-depth perusal of the work. Since this page is an ongoing project, new citations will be added continually, if sometimes infrequently.

Copyright
Please note: the author of the cited work retains all the usual rights pertaining to ownership. Likewise, this bibliography, along with its annotations, remain my property, protected by international copyright law. I appreciate you respecting it.
